Founded by Joyce Sylvester in 2007, Bella Voce of Mobile is the region’s only all women’s chorus. Bella Voce provides opportunities for women of all levels of musical skill to learn and grow together in song and friendship. Our group ranges in age from sixteen to over ninety years old and includes women with a wide variety of backgrounds, professions, and life experiences.
Bella Voce’s mission is to provide cultural education and entertainment to the public as well as musical and cultural enrichment to our members. Our members enjoy mastering a diverse and challenging repertoire for each concert, including songs commissioned by the group from local and regional composers. Our concerts feature guest instrumentalists to accompany and enhance our treble voices. Dressed in our signature all-black and pearls, the women of Bella Voce perform Christmas and spring concerts each year, delighting audiences with timeless favorites and exciting new compositions.
